Purple Tuesday

Purple Tuesday is a global movement that challenges organisations to improve the customer experience for disabled people and their families, both online and in person. It shines a spotlight on accessibility and inclusion, encouraging practical, long‑term change rather than one‑off gestures.

Held each November, Purple Tuesday brings together businesses, public sector bodies, and community organisations to celebrate good practice and make new commitments to accessibility. Participants are invited to review how disabled people access their services, remove barriers, and recognise the value and spending power of disabled customers, often referred to as the “Purple Pound”.

The initiative began in the UK and has grown into an international campaign, with events and activations taking place across multiple countries and sectors. From staff training and improved communications to more accessible venues and digital platforms, Purple Tuesday is about making accessibility part of everyday culture, so that disabled people can engage with confidence in all aspects of life.
