Working with Visit England and Visit Britain
We work closely with Visit England and Visit Britain to ensure that our partners are aware of National initiatives they can get involved in and to ensure that our region is included in National campaigns. Such as:
English Tourism Week
English Tourism Week is an annual celebration of England’s tourism industry, highlighting its economic importance and the quality experiences available to visitors. Organised by VisitEngland, the week-long event typically takes place in March and provides a platform for businesses, destinations, and stakeholders to showcase their offerings, engage with local communities, and encourage domestic travel. It also serves as an opportunity to raise awareness of the sector’s contributions to jobs and the economy while promoting England as a vibrant and diverse destination. Activities often include special events, promotions, and campaigns to inspire more people to explore the country.
The Starring GREAT Britain Campaign
Film and TV shows are powerful motivators for travel. VisitBritain’s latest research shows that more than 9 out of 10 potential visitors to the UK are keen to visit a film or TV location during their trip.
The campaign ‘Starring GREAT Britain’ launched in January 2025, kicking off with a blockbuster-inspired film that sees Britain the star of the show. The film takes viewers on a cinematic journey through Britain, giving them a front row seat to the destinations at the heart of the on-screen action. The launch film, directed by Academy Award-winning British director Tom Hooper, is supported by a wider advertising campaign which is underway across the UK’s largest and most valuable inbound visitor markets including Australia, the Gulf Co-operation Council (GCC) countries, France, Germany and the USA. We are also working with partners to convert the interest generated by the campaign into bookings to Britain. While the paid advertising campaign is running across these specific markets, it is also being amplified across all markets using the powerful reach of social channels, and trade and media visits.
The campaign is supported by educational visits for international trade and media including during ‘Showcase Britain’ event in January 2025. Top travel trade from across major inbound markets are undertaking tailored film-inspired visits across England, Scotland and Wales, exploring the latest tourism products and experiences to get those sold in international markets.
