Crewe Town Council to host International Day of Persons with Disabilities event

Crewe Town Council is bringing local organisations together for a special awareness event at Crewe Market Hall to mark International Day of Persons with Disabilities. The event is supported by Cheshire East Council.

Taking place on Thursday 3 December from 10am to 12pm, the event will give residents the opportunity to meet organisations providing support, advice and services for disabled people and find out more about the help available locally. International Day of Persons with Disabilities takes place annually on 3 December and falls within Disability History Month.

Cllr Jill Rhodes, Leader of Crewe Town Council, said: “We want this event to give people the opportunity to find out more about the support and services available locally, while also encouraging greater awareness and understanding of the barriers disabled people can face. This is the first time we have held an event to mark International Day of Persons with Disabilities, and we hope it is something we can build on in future years.”

The event is free to attend and everyone is welcome to drop in between 10am and 12 noon. International Day of Persons with Disabilities
